IPA Labour Market

Project “Increasing the supply of the qualified work-force among the labour market risk-groups” in 2016-2017

Background

The Project was initiated to meet the challenges in the field of labour market of Republic of Macedonia. In recent years, the unemployment rate has decreased, but it still too high. The Macedonian situation is characterised by structural rather than cyclical unemployment. It is reflected in the mismatch between the skills of the labour force and the needs of the employees. Whereas previous efforts have focused on active job-seekers, specific labour market target groups (the youth, disabled, people living in remote and rural areas) need tailor-made services and programmes developed for them.

Specific objective

To widen the employability of the unemployed and socially excluded persons in Skopje and South-Western region of Republic of Macedonia by developing and implementing tailor made programmes and facilitating their full integration into the society and in particular their access to the labour market.

Target: 55% of the target-group will have found a job or have set up business after Project completion
